Luxury Brand Holdings, the Warwick, R.I.–based parent company of Ross-Simons and the Sidney Thomas jewelry chain, has appointed Evan Berkley (pictured) to its board of directors.
As a board member, Berkley will contribute to the company’s strategic and operational efforts, according to a statement.
Berkley was recently appointed CEO of Mr. Christmas, which creates mechanical and musical decorations. Before that, Berkley served as a partner and executive vice president of Jacmel. He first joined Jacmel, his family business, in 1994, and helped drive that company’s sales, merchandising, and product development, as well as helping to oversee the company’s Italian office.
Ross-Simons currently comprises two e-commerce sites as well as five brick-and-mortar stores: one for Ross-Simons, the other four for Sidney Thomas. Last August, Citizens Bank announced it was providing Luxury Brand Holdings with a new $35 million credit facility.
James M. Speltz, president of Luxury Brand Holdings, said in a statement that Berkley “brings vast experience and understanding of the jewelry industry alongside strong business acumen. He will be a valuable asset to our team and our customers as we continue to expand our portfolio.”
In May, Luxury Brand Holdings announced a collaboration with Olympic gold medal–winning skier Jessie Diggins to be a brand ambassador for Ross-Simons.
In the statement, Berkley called the Luxury Brand Holdings team “true leaders in the business, and we have like experiences in innovating and expanding jewelry design and distribution. Most importantly—and the reason we do it all—is our passion for bringing fabulous jewelry to customers around the USA and the globe.”
Berkley also serves on the Jewelers for Children board of directors.
