Robbers steal $1 million in jewelry from a Texas jewelry store

A pair of brazen bandits robbed a jewelry store in a San Antonio, Texas, mall Tuesday morning, fleeing with an estimated $1 million in Rolex watches and diamonds, police reportedly said.

The robbery occurred at about 11 a.m. during operating hours at Lee Michael’s Fine Jewelers in the North Star Mall, the San Antonio Express reports. According to police, two black men wearing blue jogging suits entered the store through the mall entrance. One brandished a gun and ordered employees to open jewelry cases.

After the cases were opened, the bandits reportedly ordered employees to lie down on the floor. They then scooped up 90 Rolex watches and several loose diamonds, which had a combined value of about $1 million, police reportedly said.

The robbers then fled the store through the mall and escaped in a gray GMC pickup that had been reported stolen about two hours earlier in the Ingram Park Mall area, the newspaper reports.
