A Bridgeport, Conn., jewelry store owner and an alleged robber are recovering after they shot each other yesterday, The Associated Press reports.
Police reportedly say 32-year-old Gregory Turner walked into Santos Jewelers yesterday afternoon pretending to be a customer.
He reportedly tried to restrain owner Jerry Dos Santos with plastic handcuffs, but when that didn’t work, he hit Dos Santos on the head with a gun.
Dos Santos was able to get his own gun and shoot Turner in the leg. Police reportedly say Turner shot Dos Santos in the foot. Dos Santos was treated at the hospital and released. He won’t face charges, the AP reports.
Turner was in stable condition at Saint Vincent’s Medical Center. His bond is set at 750-thousand dollars, the AP reports. He faces a number of charges including attempted murder and first-degree robbery.
