The Responsible Jewellery Council released its chain-of-custody standard for the precious metals supply chain, including gold, platinum, palladium, and rhodium.
The standard was created to support the identification of responsibly sourced jewelry and is voluntary for RJC members.
According to the RJC, responsibly sourced jewelry is both conflict-free and responsibly produced in regards to fair labor practices, business ethics, and both human and environmental rights.
