Providence Journal ad campaign sparks interest in MJSA show

A three-week advertising campaign in the Providence Journal and Rhode Island Newspaper Group is only halfway complete, but it has already brought the Trade Show for Jewelry Making to the attention of hundreds of jewelry makers from across Southern New England, the Manufacturing Jewelers & Suppliers of America said.

TSJM will be held Sept. 17 and 28 at the Rhode Island Convention Center. The show is sponsored by MJSA.

The regional weekly ad campaign includes newspaper coverage in North Providence, East Providence, Barrington, Warren, Somerset, Narragansett, Warwick, Johnston, Cumberland/Lincoln, North Smithfield/Woonsocket, Bristol, Sakonnet, Swansea, Westport, East Greenwich, Chariho, Newport, Seekonk and Coventry—alerting hundreds of professional jewelry makers and designers who often don’t show up on any traditional mailing lists, MJSA said in a statement.

The Providence Journal also ran an initial announcement of the show and is promising to run an in-depth story in September focusing on the importance of the show to Providence and Southeastern Massachusetts, as well as to the jewelry industry suppliers. The Providence Business Journal also plans to run a pre-show story, and local television stations have also shown interest in running similar stores, MJSA says.

TSJM pre-registration is approaching 700 and is well on the way to topping the 1,000 mark by show time, MJSA says.
