PhotoScribe Technologies, New York City, will demonstrate how to read a bar code that has been inscribed on the girdle of a diamond during the JCK Show ~ Las Vegas 2007.

PhotoScribe will be providing the demonstrations at its booth (6055) during the show, being held June 1-5 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center, the Venetian Resort casino, and the Las Vegas Convention Center. The demonstrations will be performed by David Benderly, president/chief executive officer of PhotoScribe.

The company said it believes that bar coding, or more specifically 2D symbology, will be a future trend that will help solve some industry issues regarding diamond tracking, inventory management, and accountability.

A 2-D data matrix bar code provides ease of tracking, the ability to place more information on the diamond, confidentiality, and easy access to the data, said. He will demonstrate and discuss how the diamond industry can use a bar code scanner to more easily manage their inventory, security issues and finances.
