Pen Show to be Held in Dallas

The 14th Dallas Collectible Pen Show, presented by North Texas Fountain Pen Collectors Club, will take place Friday, September 28, 2007 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Sept. 29, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Holiday Inn Select, Richardson, Texas. The hotel is located on HWY 75 between Arapaho Road and Campbell Road on the west side of HWY 75. The event is free and open to the general public.

The show will offer attendees an opportunity to buy, sell or trade thousands of rare, vintage and current production writing instruments as well as a selection of vintage watches from collectors around the U.S. More than 30 exhibitors will be represented, including pen dealers, calligraphers, and pen restoration companies. Pen repairs will be available on site and many enthusiasts will be on hand to educate and share their passion.

A silent auction will be held, showcasing vintage pens, books, and other pen related paraphernalia.

The North Texas Fountain Pen Collectors Club has been in existence for more than 23 years and has more than 75 members. The group meets the first Wednesday of even numbered months at the Holiday Inn Select. The programs vary and are put on by the members. Topics discussed generally range from new pens, vintage pens and their history, as well as restoration techniques. The group also offers fellowship time and buying and trading opportunities with other members.
