Pearl design contest call for entries

The deadline for “Actual Jewelry” entries for the 29th International Pearl Design Contest (IPDC) will be January 31, 2003, the IPDC announced in New York. The deadline for “Design Rendering” entries will be March 14, 2003.

The 29th IPDC will be conducted in the same fashion as the previous year, the organization said in the statement. There will be only two entry categories, Actual Jewelry and Design Rendering. Contestants can enter an unlimited amount of times, but there is a $30 entry fee that must accompany each piece entered. Only photographs will be accepted for the preliminary stage of judging in the Actual Jewelry category. If a design is accepted into the second stage of judging, the actual piece itself must then be submitted for the final judging round. There will only be one final judging round for the Design Rendering category. All of the judging will take place in Japan.

There are monetary awards for Grand Prize through fourth place winners in both categories.
