Paula Crevoshay to Speak at Museum

As the “Queen of Color,” jewelry designer Paula Crevoshay will give a lecture at the Headley-Whitney Museum titled “Beyond Color” to commemorate the opening of the museum’s new jewelry wing.

Crevoshay’s “Beyond Color” collection is part of the Glorious Goldsmiths and Designers Exhibition, which marks the opening of the new Marylou Whitney and John Hendrickson Galleries. The exhibition, which coincides with Jeweled Objects of Desire, runs through July 30, 2009.

Paula Crevoshay is known as the ‘Queen of Color.’

“Beyond Color is my contribution to the opening of the new wing at the Headley Whitney Museum dedicated to the art, and history of jewelry design,” says Crevoshay. “I chose the theme ‘Beyond Color’ to encapsulate my three decades of designing jewelry with an emphasis on color. I felt in order to put my best foot forward I needed to incorporate color as a primary element in the collection I produced for this wonderful institution.”

Located in Lexington, Kentucky, the museum is known for its famed Jewel Room, which opened in 1968.

The “Beyond Color” lecture will take place at the Headley-Whitney Museum on Sunday, May 17 at 2:00PM.
