Organized Thieves Strike Colorado Jeweler

A man stole several pieces of jewelry from Lionshead
Jewelers in Vail, Colo. on Nov. 30.

According to a press release from the Vail Police
Department, the man entered the store with four other people. Two members
distracted employees, while the other two members committed the crime. Police say
the man reached over the counter, opened a display case from behind and took
the jewelry. Among the stolen jewelry were a distinct necklace and ring.

Vail Police Department detecive sergeant Christopher Botkins tells JCK that the jewelry was worth $35,000

The crime was caught on video surveillance. Botkins says no arrests have been made and police are
seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man.”We’re getting some tips and following up on leads,” Botkins says.

Lionshead Jewelers could not be reached for comment.
