Online Jewelry Sales Leap 18% in December

Online jewelry retailers reported an 18.5 percent jump in
sales in December 2010, according to recent research from IBM Coremetrics.

The research also found that the U.S. online retail sector
had double-digit growth in December, compared with the same period last year.

“Retailers did a tremendous job of enticing consumers to
shop online with a variety of special promotions, guaranteed delivery dates,
free or deeply discounted shipping, and up-to-date inventory information,” said
John Squire, chief strategy officer, IBM Coremetrics, in a statement.
