Awards and recognition jewelry maker O.C. Tanner, Salt Lake City, Utah, recently unveiled a newly renovated flagship jewelry store located in the historic Salt Lake City Library building. The project took two years and $24 million to complete.
According to the company, the 104-year-old building sat dormant for years after time served as the city’s main library and then a planetarium. But O.C. Tanner purchased the building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, from the city after submitting plans to lovingly restore and utilize it.
The store lies within a 10-block area of Salt Lake City that is the focus of $1.5 billion of revitalization efforts-dubbed Downtown Rising-to be invested over the next five years. O.C. Tanner also operates another jewelry store in Park City.
