Nordstrom Promotes Digital Guru to COO

Nordstrom has promoted Ken Worzel to the role of chief operating officer.

Worzel, a 10-year veteran of the Seattle-based retailer, had previously served as its chief digital officer, a post he was promoted to last year, as well as a president of Nordstrom.com.

In his new role, Worzel is responsible for overseeing and bringing together Nordstrom’s digital and physical stores to better service its customers along all touchpoints.

“This change will improve alignment, process, speed, and execution,” said copresident Pete Nordstrom in a statement. “And most importantly from the customer point of view, this creates a more seamless and improved service experience.”

Nordstrom has recently made several shifts in its executive ranks, including last month appointing Teri Bariquit to the new position of chief merchandising officer.

Nordstrom operates 380 stores in 40 states.
