NJJA Gold Bill Meeting

The New Jersey Jewelers Association is hosting a meeting concerning a bill being considered in the New Jersey state legislature that will affect how jewelers in the Garden State buy and sell gold.

The meeting on the gold buying bill, A2712, will be held Aug. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Woodbridge Hilton, Woodbridge, N.J. At the meeting, the Jewelers Vigilance Committee also will be holding a seminar on the Patriot Act to ensure the membership is in compliance with the federal guidelines.

This meeting is free to the NJJA membership and a $25 per person fee for non-members.

The state legislature was considering the bill in June but a last-minute telephone campaign resulted in the legislature tabling the bill prior to the summer recess.

More information on the meeting, and bill A2712 can be found on the NJJA Web site.
