In a benchmark decision, The JCK Show ~ Las Vegas management team changed the dates of its 2006 portfolio of Las Vegas events to accommodate the religious Jewish holiday of Shavuot. The widely observed holiday in the 2006 calendar falls on the originally planned opening day of Las Vegas show. Only scheduled to impact the 2006 Show, the move to alter the dates by one day came after extensively exhausting all other options, show organizers said Wednesday.

The JCK Show ~ Las Vegas 2006, will commence one day later on Saturday, June 3 through Wednesday, June 7. Show organizers say this will not only address rising concerns of many religious exhibiting observers who planned on being absent to honor the holiday, but it also sends a very powerful message that the Show is sensitive to the needs of the thousands of similarly impacted attendees.

“We always have said that the key point of differentiation for JCK’s portfolio of events is that we listen with a keen ear to the needs of our customers. Not only do we listen, we also put action behind it,” says Dave Bonaparte, vice president, The JCK Shows.

The new dates puts an end to the apprehension that many religious observers held, believing they would have to miss an additional day of the show for religious observance, resulting in two days missed on the Show floor, says Ari Chitrik – Citra. “This decision demonstrates sound customer service and it’s comforting to people like myself who recognize this very important religious holiday. The JCK Show has shown their ability to make the best of a situation and provide a solution that will benefit the industry—buyers as well as exhibitors. I am sure I speak for many of my colleagues when I say that JCK is a creative organization caring about the people they do business with.”

Also slightly affected by the 2006 date shift will be the LUXURY by JCK preceding The JCK Show and the Swiss Watch by JCK event, which runs parallel to The JCK Show. LUXURY by JCK 2006 will continue to directly precede JCK starting on, Tuesday, May 30 through Friday, June 2, and Swiss Watch will continue to mirror JCK Show dates opening on June 3.
