Dr. Louis J. Castiglione Jr., owner of Castiglione Jewelers in Gloversville, N.Y., died June 8 at the age of 68 after a battle with cancer.
Castiglione attained a Ph.D in biological oceanography in 1973 before becoming president of his father’s store in 1976. He became a certified gemologist appraiser in 1989.
Castiglione is survived by his wife, Barbara, as well as their two sons, Matthew and Andrew; his sister, Elaine; mother-in-law, Olga Keller; brothers-in-law, William Keller III and James Keller; and sister-in-law, Susan Duross.
