Miami-based company, eDiamondselect, has released Series 4.0, its newest generation of software that allows retailers to combine the breadth of the Internet with the convenience and trust of a retail jeweler. Its “WebEmbed” system can be integrated “dynamically” into a store’s Web site, allowing customers to remotely search the store and suppliers’ inventories.
Beyond providing real-time access to suppliers’ global diamond inventories, eDiamondselect’s newest software includes faster access, enhanced inventory views, and easier to use controls. Company officials say this will allow diamond retailers a way to compete with competition online.
“Retailers can find diamonds for their customers online very quickly and in a matter of days have them in-store to see and purchase,” said David Norman, a jewelry industry consultant working with eDiamondselect. “Offering customers the opportunity to actually see the diamond before requiring them to buy it is something the online retailers can’t offer. With eDiamondselect, retail jewelers have the ability to fight back against their Internet competition.”
