Ten months after Gareth Penny resigned as De Beers CEO, the market is buzzing that a permanent replacement may have finally been found.
The strong word from the DTC sight this week is that De Beers has found a new CEO. The person is from outside the industry—reportedly from the car business—which would signal a huge change for the company.
I have reached out to De Beers, but they remain customarily tight-lipped, saying only that “the process is well-advanced, and we hope to have further details soon.” But we have heard that for a while. Stay tuned.
