New dates and a companion bridal show for 2006 Diamonds by JCK

Diamonds by JCK, which ended Tuesday, attracted buyers from leading retailers including Zale’s, Ultra Stores, Underwoods, amd Rogers and Hollands, show organizers said in a statement. The 2006 event will take place Oct. 17-19 at Pier 94 in New York City and will include the launch of a new co-located event – Bridal by JCK.

“We are pleased with the quality of the buyers that did attend and were happy to hear that exhibitors were conducting business,” said Dave Bonaparte, vice president of JCK Events. “For 2006 we are excited to announce that we will hold the event October 17-19, which is a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday date pattern, after many of the religious holidays have taken place. Furthermore, we look forward to enhancing the value of the Show with the addition of a new finished bridal segment – Bridal by JCK.”

This year’s show included a new Colored Gemstone Pavilion with 30 exhibitors in addition to the more than 225 exhibitors showcasing loose diamonds and color gemstones. The event also offered several educational presentations including Diamond Promotion Service’s talk on Ten Tactics for Holiday Success and a presentation by master diamond cutter Gabi Tolkowsky, who discussed The Music of Diamonds.

“Diamonds by JCK was a very good event for us to attend. We saw the people we needed to see, and were able to get all the work done that we hoped to accomplish,” said Clayton Bromberg, President of Underwoods in Jacksonville, Fla. “This was my second year attending the event, and this year I brought my vice president so we could do all of our loose gemstone buying. I liked that they added some colored stone vendors which gave us another option to get some buying done.”

Next October, Diamonds by JCK will include Bridal by JCK – a co-located event that will showcase the leading designers and manufacturers of finished bridal jewelry. This show has been developed as a means of increased value for retailers shopping for diamonds and finished bridal jewelry.

“When is comes to jewelry, brides are choosing much more than their wedding bands. They are accessorizing with tiaras, hair clips, chandelier earrings, diamond pendants, tennis bracelets, and even colored stones,” said Bonaparte. “So it is only natural to launch a bridal show and conveniently co-locate it along side our Diamonds by JCK, where there is already a vast assortment of loose diamonds. We know that retailers, designers and manufacturers will agree that this is truly the perfect marriage.”
