Movado, Tommy Hilfiger, and Hugo Boss to Partner With Google on Smartwatches

Watch brand Movado announced a partnership with Google this week to introduce Movado Connect, a smartwatch collection powered by Android Wear 2.0, Google’s newly redesigned platform.

Movado Connect—which will debut at this year’s Baselworld—is one of the first watches designed specifically for Android Wear 2.0. It will launch in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and the United Kingdom this fall with five men’s styles priced from $495.

Tommy Hilfiger and Hugo Boss, two brands in the Movado Group portfolio, are also partnering with Google on smartwatches that will launch in the fall, according to Movado Group (though details have not been released on those launches).

Efraim Grinberg, chairman and CEO of Movado Group, said in a prepared statement, “We’re very proud of our collaboration with Google, and for the opportunity to provide our customers with an incredibly designed timepiece, powered by the latest, cutting-edge technology platform.”

Movado Connect will feature five unique customizable dials “designed and inspired” by Movado’s iconic Museum dial. Each dial design will boast three to four customizable elements, including various complications, backgrounds, and watch hands.

The watches, which will have a display that’s “always on” instead of going dark when passive, will be able to access all Android apps.
