Shoppers aren’t just giving gifts for the holiday, they are
giving gift receipts, according to the National Retail Federation’s 2010
Holiday Returns Survey.
According to the study, some 60 percent of shoppers say they
provide a receipt when giving a gift, up from 58.5 percent last year and 56.9
percent in 2006.
Yet most of these receipts won’t be used: Some two-thirds
(66.3 percent) of those surveyed didn’t return a single gift last holiday
season.
