Last week, I showed you some of the most fun jewels I encountered on my travels around the Luxury by JCK show. But the whimsy wasn’t restricted only to Luxury—the main show floor of JCK Las Vegas overflowed with fun finds, too.
Lark & Berry, a lab-grown diamond brand that exhibited at JCK for the first time this year, showed a collection of whimsical charms that possessed a (mostly) beach theme—“we’re English so there had to be an umbrella.” I personally loved the jellyfish most, and there was a cactus that was on point for our time in the desert. Lark & Berry also boasted some very colorful stacking rings, all featuring man-made stones.
Keeping with a beach theme, Dune Jewelry, known for its customized styles that feature sand and other materials from destinations all over the world, spotlighted a larimar collection that had me craving a trip to the coast. While the pineapple had my favor, the assortment of sea creatures and vacation-worthy icons would appeal to any travel-minded individual.
The always-fun Évocateur had a surplus of colorful bracelets and necklaces, with themes ranging from animals of the wild and sea, to art-inspired patterns and destinations. My favorite was a bracelet depicting the long stretch at the racetrack in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.—a frequent destination in the place I grew up.
Frederic Duclos, a brand specializing in sterling silver and two-tone pieces, had me loving on this sunshiny necklace. “In Phoenix it’s the sun, in Minnesota, they’re snowflakes,” Karen Duclos, one half of the husband-wife team, told me.
At Belle Étoile, there were colorful confections galore from the brand known for its sterling silver and enamel styles. But most fun was catching up with new mom Carolyn Thamkul, as we recounted our adventures of traveling to the trade show with our young daughters in tow. Are we bringing up the industry’s newest generation? Possibly!
Lastly, I visited the Aaron Shum booth downstairs in the Hong Kong pavilion, where Reena Ahluwalia helped me to check off a very vital point on my Vegas list: a picture with the Mudan watch, the record-setting, 50-carat-plus diamond timepiece. It was so sparkly and lovely—and heavy, too! (It’s pictured at top).
I hope you encountered even more fun on your visit to JCK Las Vegas 2019! What were your brightest finds?
