Minnesota Jeweler Dies

Donald
Mauch, former owner of Mauk Jewelers in Fergus Falls, Minn., died Aug. 12 at
the age of 86.

After
serving in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1947, Mauch went to school for
watchmaking, jewelry, and gemology in Kansas City, Kan. He then opened his
store in 1956. Mauch retired in 1986.

He
was a member of the Elks, Eagles, Grace United Methodist Church, El Zagel
Shrine Club of Fargo, N.D., the Independent Jewelers Organization, and the
Minnesota Jewelers and Watchmakers Association.

He
is survived by his children, Roxanne Vigen, Susan Mauch, and Jeff Mauch, five
grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Donations are preferred to Lakeland Hospice in Fergus Falls or Grace United Methodist
Church of Fergus Falls.
