A Michigan jeweler is continuing its charitable efforts beyond the holiday
season.
West Bloomfield–based Tapper’s Diamonds & Fine Jewelry launched its “Making
Time for a Good Cause” initiative Jan. 1, benefitting Kids Kicking Cancer—a group that
helps children that are undergoing cancer treatments endure the pain and
discomfort by teaching them martial arts and guided meditation techniques.
“A customer may bring in up to three watches for simple battery changes, which
will be complimentary at any Tapper’s location,” Karynne Naftolin, Tapper’s
communications manager, tells JCK.
“What Tapper’s is asking is that the customer make a voluntary minimum $10
donation for each battery to Kids Kicking Cancer.”
The efforts will benefit Kids Kicking Cancer through March 31. Naftolin
says the charity will change every three months and Tapper’s will select
charities that will benefit children, education, cancer, and veterans and
military families.
“The Tapper family is deeply involved in their community,” says Naftolin. “In a given year,
Tapper’s gives to over 100 different charities.”
