Renowned chef, Nobu Matsuhisa joins Rado U.S., the Swiss watchmaker, as the company’s new brand ambassador.
Rado’s partnership with Nobu was created with the idea of combining food with timepieces in an abstract and design oriented photographic exhibition. Nobu was given the challenge of creating ten dishes that were inspired by Rado timepieces, and display each culinary creation in a way that resembled the design of each watch. Five dishes came from existing recipes and five new dishes were created solely for Rado. The work was photographed by Martyn Thompson and the result is an exhibition that define the connection of each timepiece and the chosen dish.
Rado watches, known to withstand the everyday physical burdens of cooking with its scratch and heat-resistant materials, has become the timepiece of choice for chefs nationwide, according to a company statement. “As a result, Nobu and Rado have become the perfect ingredients in mixing food with design.”
