Penny Proddow and Marion Fasel, jewelry historians and contributing editors of InStyle magazine, will present a design trends presentation as the opening keynote speakers at the 2005 LUXURY by JCK event, to be held May 30 through June 2 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.
Proddow and Fasel, also the authors of “With this Ring: The Ultimate Guide To Wedding Jewelry,” will present a run-down of the most popular jewelry trends and offer a mini-tutorial in how jewelers can spot trends of the future. They will also share interesting anecdotal background information on the engagement rings of many celebrity icons. Attendees will also have the opportunity to obtain an autographed copy of the authors’ book.
Wednesday’s breakfast presentation, featuring Mark Victor Hansen, the New York Times #1 Best Selling Author of “Chicken Soup For The Soul”, touches on the psyche of the people in an organization and how to feed and nurture it so that it works for the business. Hansen, an author renowned for creating big picture thinking, mission-focused goals, purpose and contagious passion in top executives around the globe, he inspires all audiences to expand their vision.
Attendees at the final breakfast presentation on Thursday will learn how to effectively “Hug Their Customers” by the trailblazing author who wrote the book: Jack Mitchell, CEO of Mitchells/Richards(two highly successful independent high-end department stores). In his groundbreaking session, Mitchell will instruct on the techniques for taking the customer service element from good to great and achieving the highest margins in the jewelry industry.
The evening affairs will begin on the evening of Monday May 30th with a lavish Product Preview and Welcome Reception featuring dinner and dancing hosted by The JCK Publishing Group: JCK, Luxury International and Trendz magazines. Maximizing the flow and networking potential of this highly anticipated evening, the reception will start with the networking Preview cocktail and expand into the dinner and dancing portion of the evening to kick off LUXURY with a bang.
On Tuesday evening, there will be a cocktail reception, dinner and private comedic performance featuring Wayne Brady, co-star of the hysterical, nationally-syndicated “Whose Line Is It Anyway?, and host of the Emmy-Award Winning “Wayne Brady Show.” The event will be held at the five-star Bellagio Hotel.
Wednesday evening’s Poolside Gala: Cocktails, dinner and featured entertainment will give attendees “Good Vibrations.” Set at the serene Venetian Hotel poolside, the evening will be headlined by the legendary Beach Boys featuring Brian Wilson, singing unforgettable hits like “California Girls,” “I Get Around,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “Surfin’ USA” and much more.
The nightly Late Night LUXURY Lounge which follows each of the event’s evening functions, gathers the night owls together in a relaxed setting to get a little closer to their old colleagues and new business partners.
