Longines Scholarship Fund for Agassi Academy

Longines Swiss Watches recently unveiled its Longines Elegance Scholarship Fund, created for the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy in West Las Vegas.

The Sept. 4 event at the Tourneau TimeMachine store in New York City featured tennis legend and Longines ambassador Andre Agassi and two students of the Academy, Micah Jones and Brianna Guillory (who recited the school’s “Code of Respect,” recited each morning by the academy’s 600 students). The ongoing fund, began with Longines $200,000 donation, will provide scholarships to the first class of graduating seniors in 2009.

The Academy, an award-winning K-12 public charter school created to transform public education for economically at-risk young people, was began by Agassi in 2001 and is supported by The Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation.
