Melissa Joy Manning and Doo-Ri Chung, the designer behind the Doo.Ri
label, have combined their similar style sensibilities in a new jewelry
collection. The Melissa Joy Manning for Doo.Ri collection features an abstract
interpretation of spiderwebs—a mutual fascination and inspiration for both
artists. Pieces feature Manning’s uniquely organic aesthetic (think geodes)
with wire- and fabrication-free metal work, as Manning molds each silhouette
out of metal clay. The jewelry is sterling silver, and some items are
embellished with stones and chain—a signature look for the California-based
artist.
Pieces will be in stores by late December; retail prices start at $200.
The Kinetic necklace in silver retails for $6,440.
