Retail jeweler Lily & Co. of Sanibel, Fla., recently celebrated its three-year anniversary. Owners Dan Schuyler and Karen Bell hosted a party that featured a charitable component, raising some $1,550 for Friends in Service (F.I.S.H.), a nonprofit that provides free services like transportation, a food pantry, meal delivery, health equipment, and emergency financial assistance for locals. Food donations were also accepted.
“We collected so much food for F.I.S.H. that they ran out of shelf space,” Schuyler told JCK.
Event sponsors included local businesses like Bailey’s General Store, Schnappers Hots, Billy’s Bikes & Rentals, Sanibel Fire and Rescue, and the Sanibel Parks and Recreation Department. The store served more than 350 hot dogs and snow cones to guests, and some attendees even took a dip in the dunk tank.
In other Lily & Co. news, the store has been granted permission by The City Of Sanibel Planning Commission to expand the store by adding nine show cases and four wall units. Construction begins in August, with a grand reopening slated for November 1.
