Les Georgettes by Altesse, the French jewelry brand famous for its colorful convertible jewelry, has opened its first-ever boutique, in Paris.
Launched two years ago, the brand is stocked in more than 3,000 retail doors globally. Its bright-and-colorful new shop is located at 11 Rue de Sévigné in the heart of Paris’ historical Marais district—a corner of the city that’s already a part of the brand’s DNA.
Marius Legros, a jeweler and the founder of the Altesse Group, set up his first jewelry workshop nearby at 62 Rue Charlot in 1905, before later returning to his family home in Ardèche in southeastern France.
The brand Les Georgettes is a collaboration between Maison Altesse, a leading jewelry manufacturer in France, and Texier, a storied leather- goods manufacturer based in picturesque French peninsula Brittany. Both companies are officially recognized as part of France’s national heritage.
The brand debuted in November 2015 and quickly found success with its chic-yet-affordable convertible bracelet concept, which combines fine custom jewelry with interchangeable and reversible colored-leather bands.
Altesse shared with JCK that it’s sold more than 700,000 Les Georgettes bracelets, 1.2 million leather bands, and 200,000 rings in its three years.
Les Georgettes’ biggest markets are France (where it’s carried by roughly 1,000 retailers), North America, the United Kingdom, and Germany. The brand’s retail value grew from $3 million in 2015 to $45 million in 2017, according to the company, which hopes to double that value for 2018.
