Klum promotes new jewelry line at JCK Show

Supermodel Heidi Klum spent Friday at The JCK Show ~ Las Vegas 2003 to promote her new line of jewelry, “Mouawad, The Heidi Klum Collection.”

Klum spent the entire day at the Mouawad booth meeting potential customers and attending a party at the booth sponsored by the international jewelry house. This was Klum’s latest stop on a short tour of jewelry trade shows and her first time at The JCK Show. She said was impressed with both the size and breadth of the show.

“This is pretty big show,” she said. “It’s a different world than what I’m used to.”

“Mouawad, The Heidi Klum Collection” was inspired by a visit to Italy during which Klum was intrigued by a clover-patterned marble inlay at the Duomo in Milan. She envisioned the use of the clover motif as an adornment piece and expressed her desire to incorporate this symbol into the design of a jewelry line.

The core collection consists of 35 pieces made from white and yellow gold, diamonds, sapphires, rubies, turquoise, coral, and semiprecious stones as well as fashionable leather and silk cord. Pieces vary from classic everyday pendants to ornate necklaces and bracelets featuring interlocking pavé clovers. The collection will be sold at fine jewelry retailers worldwide beginning in September 2003. Prices range from $300 to $100,000.

Klum said Friday that the clover piece she was wearing is the dominant theme of the collection. “This clover is the statement piece,” she said. “Everything originates from that clover.”
