JVC provides consumer information for members’ Web sites

The Jewelers Vigilance Committee (JVC), in a joint project with PolyGroup’s Brandmatrix division, has created a new consumer-oriented Web service for JVC members. Using the patent-pending Brandmatrix SiteInfusionT technology, the service allows members to place consumer-friendly JVC content directly into their existing Web sites with little effort. The program works with all Web sites, regardless of hosting or design.

“We’re responding to numerous requests from our members to provide consumer-friendly information to the public,” says JVC executive director and general counsel Cecilia L. Gardner. “Consumers can learn more of what they want to know by visiting the Web site of their favorite retailer.”

The JVC content provides, among other things, an explanation of what the JVC is; a quick, general consumer checklist for purchasing fine jewelry (modeled after JVC’s brochure on the same subject); and JVC’s Standards and Practices for membership. The JVC information exists as a mini-site within a company’s larger Web site, and future changes would be automatically posted with no additional effort on the member company’s part.
