Jewelers Vigilance Committee has launched a “Forms Bank” on its web site, www.jvclegal.org.
The bank, available on the site’s “members only” section, is a library of the specific government forms or language to use on a receipt, warranty, or certification. These forms include store receipts, take in forms, credit applications, cash transaction reports and more. Explanation and guidance are also available.
For example, “ruby and jadeite importers and sellers may need the forms and certificates mandated by the JADE Act, which bans the import of those gems from Burma,” notes Cecilia Gardner, JVC’s president, CEO, general counsel. “These (among others) are easily obtained from the JVC Forms Bank.”
“Another example is the JVC’s sales receipt form,” Gardner continues. “It was designed to protect retailers from disputes over return policies or gem disclosures. Retailers may find it helpful to compare their existing sales receipts with the template in JVC’s Forms Bank.”
