Judges Chosen for AGTA Spectrum Awards

Judges for the 2010 American Gem Trade Association Spectrum Awards competition were announced this week. They include Marlene Richey, design consultant and writer; John Hatleberg, gem artist; Mish Tworkowski, jewelry designer; Nicole Keating, editor for Women’s Wear Daily and W magazine; Ben Macklowe, antique jewelry expert; of and Cecelia Bauer, jewelry designer.

The competition is in its 26th year of existence, and winning designs are featured in consumer and trade press. More exposure is garnered through the competition’s Editor’s Day in New York City.

Entries are judged across five categories: evening, business and day wear, classical, bridal, and men’s wear. The Platinum Guild International will also select a design from each category to receive platinum honors, (those winners receiving an additional promotional package). The Cutting Edge division of the awards judges excellence in gemstone faceting, carving, and objects of art.
