JSA Offers Reward After Jeweler’s Murder

Jewelers’ Security Alliance is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of two men suspected in the murder of a Fresno, Calif., jeweler.

The two men—Angel Morelos, 18, (pictured, right) and Angelo Sanchez, 17 (pictured, below)—were allegedly part of a six-man crew that robbed Stereo and DJ Outlet/Mari’s Jewelry on Aug. 5.

According to reports, three of the men entered the store and then ran out with several pieces of jewelry. The store owner, her husband, and her son, Christopher Leon, pursued them out the door. Leon grabbed a man who has been identified as Morelos and held him down. Morelos then allegedly took out a gun and shot him. The 22-year-old died hours later.

JSA recommends store owners not follow robbers out of the store after a crime is complete, as they don’t know whether they have weapons or accomplices. Instead, they should lock the door and call 911.

Two juveniles have since been arrested in connection with the case, and a third has since turned himself in. The third at-large suspect has not been identified. One of the suspects is said to be 12 years old.

If you have information about this robbery, please call JSA’s Reward Hotline, 800-325-1883.

The Fresno police are also offering a $2,000 reward for their arrest.
