Jewelry Information Center, the consumer education arm of
Jewelers of America, launched a nationwide essay contest, Gems Among Us,
on Sept. 13 at JIC’s website. More than 120 JA retail members
have signed up to be participating retailers of the contest.
To enter the contest, consumers submit essays recognizing
those who make the world a better place at www.JIC.org/gemcontest. The contest
provides a marketing platform to JA member retailers in the run-up to
Thanksgiving and the holiday shopping period. JIC supplied participating
retailers with a turn-key marketing program.
The contest runs through Nov. 22. On Nov. 1, 10 essays will
be selected as finalists. From Nov. 1-22, the public can vote for their
favorite at http://www.JIC.org.
