JIC, JA Partner with AGS For Co-Branded Fashion Show

The Jewelry Information Center along with the
consumer education arm of Jewelers of America, partnered with the American Gem
Society to present the first co-branded jewelry fashion show during AGS
Conclave 2011 on April 27.

The Supplier Fashion Show and Showcase
Reception kicked off the four-day educational and networking conference in San Francisco with
more than 400 retailers in attendance.

The show showcased jewelry from 25 leading
designers. JIC’s director of media and special events Helena Krodel produced
the show. The JIC provided “Run-of-Show” programs to attendees that detailed
each designer’s jewelry and included the suggested retail price. It also served
as a guide and sales tool for retailers interested in making purchases after
the runway show ended.

“The partnership between the American Gem
Society and Jewelry Information Center resulted in a professional jewelry
fashion show that surpassed the expectations of the JIC, AGS, the designer
participants, and the attendees,” JA COO Robert Headley said in a statement.
