The Jewelry Information Center announced San Diego resident Austin Dias as the winner of its Ultimate Proposal Contest on
June 28.
Dias proposed to his girlfriend via the sail of a sailboat,
while he and his girlfriend stood on the shore.
Dias learned about the contest through his local jeweler,
Leo Hamel Fine Jewelers in San Diego.
The contest asked couples to submit their proposal stories
at JIC.org and asked readers to vote online among top 10 finalists.
Dias and his fiancée won a seven-night Caribbean cruise on
Norwegian Cruise Line and a pair of platinum and diamond wedding bands from
MaeVona.
