
Devouring the new trends presented during Fashion Week is a thrill, but it’s also important to see how they’re applied IRL (or, in some cases, on the red carpet or in advertising). This helps us to decide whether or not the sometimes-elevated looks presented by designers on the runway make for reasonable, everyday street wear. (Though some people don’t want to be reasonable and that’s one hundred percent cool, too.)
For the average customer, it’s social media influencers, celebrities, and even their favorite brands’ online accounts that show them how they could be wearing new styles—or more accurately, what they should be purchasing. Social media is considered a, if not the, main catalyst behind many consumers’ shopping decisions, so it’s never a bad idea to take a spin through your feed and see what common styles are represented there—it may just help you to get ready for the holiday season.
Here are the biggest trends I’m seeing as of now. They aren’t surprising necessarily—we’ve been discussing these styles for a while now—but the reinforcement from Instagram lets us know that we’re still headed in the right direction of giving shoppers what they want.
