Jewelers of America Welcomes New Board Directors

Jewelers of America welcomed
three new industry leaders to its board of directors at its board meeting on
July 24, in New York. The new directors are John Henne, owner of Henne
Jewelers; Brian P. Mann, vice president and co-owner of David Mann Jewelers; and
Teresa Saldivar, owner of Teresa’s Jewelers.

Henne and his sister, Meg
Henne Gibson, are the fourth generation of the Henne family to own and manage
Henne Jewelers,
a single-store operation with a reputation for quality custom design and
service. Henne Jewelers has been serving the Pittsburgh,
PA, community since 1887.

Mann co-owns David Mann Jewelers with
his brother Conrad. Mann is a past-president of the
Maryland-Delaware-Washington, D.C. Jewelers Association, a past member of the Jewelers
of America Smithsonian Committee and a former member of the Jewelry Information
Center Board.

Saldivar has
been an active participant in the California Jewelers Association – a JA state
partner jewelry association – since 1997, serving as its president in 2009. Her
store, Teresa’s Jewelers, is one of the leading jewelry stores in Santa Ana,
CA.

The three incoming directors will join in supporting
the national organization’s leadership as it works
to improve consumer confidence in the fine jewelry retail marketplace. They will serve on the board through 2012.

Additionally, the Board
of Directors meeting honored the outgoing directors: William Farmer, Jr., Farmer’s Jewelers, Lexington, KY; John Hayes,
Goodman’s Jewelers, Madison, WI; Barbara Hight-Randall, Hight & Randall, Rochester, MN; and Bev Hori, GIA.

JA’s Board of Directors is led by an Executive Committee comprised of Terry
Burman, chairman; Georgie
Gleim, chairman-elect; Michael
Kowalski, vice chairman; Jeff Corey, vice chairman; Peter Engel, treasurer; and Vicki
Cunningham, secretary.
