Jewelers of America Announces New CFO and Digital Coordinator

Trade association Jewelers of America (JA) has announced a promotion and a new hire: Annie Doresca, former director of finance and administration for the organization, has been promoted to chief financial officer of Jewelers of America, National Jeweler, and Diamond Council of America (DCA); and Laura D’Angelo has been hired as digital content coordinator.

Doresca (pictured) has been director of finance and administration for JA since 2008. She’s now responsible for JA, DCA, and National Jeweler’s finance and accounting, office management, human resources, and IT functions.

Prior to JA, she worked for New York City–based BTQ Financial, Nonprofit Finance Fund, and Goldman Sachs. Doresca currently volunteers with Meals on Wheels and serves on the Baldwin Union Free School District’s board of education in Nassau County, N.Y.

JA president and CEO David J. Bonaparte said in a statement, “Annie has been an instrumental part of our senior leadership team for the past nine years. Her promotion to CFO is a direct reflection on her hard work and invaluable contributions to the association.”

D’Angelo previously worked at DMN and Northside Media, and her role as digital content coordinator will support both JA and National Jeweler through content and email production and the maintenance of several digital platforms.

“Laura’s digital content coordinator position is a vital role as JA continues to serve our industry and communicate efficiently with our membership,” said Bonaparte in the same statement.

DCA became an affiliate of Jewelers of America in August 2017, and the two entities have been strategizing ways to share resources effectively since then.

DCA’s current senior staff is: Terry Chandler, president and CEO; Annie Doresca, CFO; Molly Fallon, director of marketing; Sharie Fogarty, education manager; Amanda Gizzi, director of public relations; Susan Posnock, director of education; Kristen Scheetz, education supervisor; Lauren Thompson, associate director of digital development and communications; and Matthew Tratner, director of membership.
