Jeweler named among top 50 women in Business

Gena Alulis, CEO of Superfit, Inc., King of Prussia, Pa. has been named one of Pennsylvania’s “Best 50 Women in Business” for 2005. Alulis, along with the 49 other winners, will receive her award during ceremonies May 23 at the Whitaker Center for Science & the Arts in Harrisburg, the state’s capitol. Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell will greet the 50 winners at an afternoon reception at the Governor’s Residence prior to the award ceremonies.

The Best 50 award honors women for their professional accomplishments and significant contributions to the business world.

“Women today, more than ever, are key players in Pennsylvania’s revitalization,” says Dennis Yablonsky, state secretary of the Department of Community and Economic Development. “The Best 50 Women in Business Awards honors entrepreneurs and business leaders who excel at what they do.”

An independent panel of judges made the selection from nominations of accomplished women business leaders throughout the state who are either owners or employees of Pennsylvania businesses. Alulis’s award marks the second time a woman from the jewelry industry has been named one the Best 50 Women in Business. Hedda T. Schupak, editor-in-chief of JCK, was selected in 2003 when the magazine was located in King of Prussia, Pa.

The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and the business journals of Pennsylvania sponsor the awards. More than 7,000 nomination forms were sent, from which 200 were presented to the panel of judges and 50 winners were selected. Superfit Inc. manufactures a patented ring shank that opens and closes, allowing the wearer to choose a ring size that correctly fits around the base of his or her finger rather than over the knuckle.
