With only days left before America selects its next president, jewelers have told JCK who will receive their vote.
A JCK national survey of hundreds of jewelery industry members (including jewelers, associations, wholesalers, manufacturers, and designers) find a solid majority are for the McCain-Palin ticket (58 percent), while the Obama-Biden ticket got more than a third (38 percent). Another four percent voted for “other.” A total of 220 persons responded to the survey.
Among those identifying themselves as Independents, the majority again was for McCain –Pain (54 percent, vs. 39 percent for Obama-Biden). Not surprisingly, most of those identifying themselves as Republican or Democrat voted for their party’s nominees (over 90 percent in each case).
Overall, of the jewelers polled by JCK, almost half (46 percent) identify themselves as Republican, over a quarter as Democrats (27 percent) and almost the same proportion as Independents (27 percent).
