JCK New Delhi show ends on a high note

The three-day JCK New Delhi Show ended Sept. 30 at the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, attracted about 3,000 domestic buyers and 90 international buyers. Delegations represented key and emerging international markets such as Italy, France, U.S., and Belgium.

Sponsored by Reed Exhibitions, this year’s fair included the “The JCK New Delhi 2006 – Gold Souk Fashion Show & Design Awards.” The show attempted to enhance and highlight the evolving facets of Indian jewelry. The theme for the Design Awards was a mélange of Fusion Jewelry with a focus especially on Indian craftsmanship.

D’damas won the first award for their pendant design, the National Institute of Jewellery Design and Technology bagged the second position for their bangle design, and the third award went to Brightest Circle Jewellery Pvt. Ltd. for their earrings design. The Awards were judged by an panel of industry experts

For winning, D’Damas received a five-day free trip to Las Vegas and an opportunity to display their winning design at JCK Las Vegas 2007, along with the seond and place winners

The Fashion Show that preceded the Design Awards had some of India’s top models, including Noyonika Chatterjee, Joey Mathews, and Tina Chatwal, who walked the ramp wearing Indian Jewelry.

The JCK comprehensive seminar program focused on building the knowledge base of the industry and enhancing the skill sets of the industry professionals. The seminars were conducted by leading professional and industry stalwarts, covering subjects such as trend forecasting, marketing trends, opportunities and challenges in the global jewelry industry etc.

JCK New Delhi 2007 has been finalized and will be held July 7-10, 2007, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
