JCK Las Vegas: Luxury by JCK Ends On High Note

The three-day-long Luxury by JCK
show held in the Venetian Hotel ended on Thursday, with positive sales reports
from many of the 130 vendors present.

At the cocktail reception the night
before the opening day, Sonny Sethi, CEO, Tara Pearls, New York, confided to
JCK that he was already completely booked with appointments, and had even made
a few pre-show sales to retailers in the market for tony one-of-kind designs
retailing for $60,000 and up. On day two of the show, Chad Allison staffers
boasted of their most packed appointment book ever at a show, and shortly
after, Steven and Richard Billig, owners of S & R Designs, Marlton, N.J.,
dished on some of their more impressive show orders, including 24 new agate and
18k gold styles retailing for $2,000 a piece. JCK Luxury magazine added to the
momentum, particularly for Richard Krementz Gemstones, Springfield, N.J., whose
black opal and diamond ring—the cover jewel for the spring issue—garnered 14
phone call inquiries.

Other show highlights included
consumer research from Martha Stewart Weddings and W magazine, email management
tips from productivity speaker Mike Song, and, one special collection debut:
The Ivanka Trump collection, which went wholesale this spring. The brand
extended invitations to select retailers to view the line in a suite in the
Palazzo Hotel, adjacent to the Venetian Hotel and Sands Convention Center.

Meanwhile, new designs on display
featured more diamond slices and entry-level platinum designs in bridal, an
increase in split-shank bridal styles, marquise shapes and nature themes in
fashion, and, an increase in yellow gold fashion pieces and yellow stones,
including the launch of a yellow beryl line by Makur (known for its morganite).

Swiss Watch by JCK opened on Friday
and runs through Monday, June 7, featuring brands like Harry Winston, Hermes,
and Tag Heuer, among others.

Next year, Luxury by JCK moves with
the JCK Las Vegas show to Mandalay Bay. Tours of the new digs were given at the
official welcome reception on Friday night, and Reed Exhibition officials state
that the venue is nearly sold out. Luxury by JCK 2011 will be held May 31 –
June 2, 2011.
