JCK industry fund seeks grant requests

The JCK Industry Fund is accepting applications for grants until Dec. 15. Grant recipients will be announced at The JCK Show ~ Orlando, which runs Feb. 2-4, 2003, at the Orlando Convention Center, Orlando, Fla.

The fund, created in 1998 by JCK Magazine and The JCK Shows, annually distributes $400,000 in grants to organizations and individuals who develop plans to enhance the jewelry industry’s image and promote its welfare and growth. To date the fund has awarded more than $1,650,000.

An advisory committee composed of representatives from the manufacturing and retailing sectors, JCK magazine, and The JCK Shows reviews all applications and selects recipients based on their ability to increase awareness of jewelry products among consumers and retailers. A grant cannot be used to replace or substitute an existing funding source for an ongoing program. Grants are made on an annual basis only.

Grant requests must be in writing and include the purpose of the grant, the amount requested, the timing of the receipt and expenditure of the funds, historical budget data indicating the significance of the project as demonstrated by previous financial commitment, the measurable benefits expected, and an agreement that JCK has the right to reasonable financial analysis and controls to ensure the funds are spent in accordance with the grant request.

Applications for grants should be submitted to JCK Magazine, attention Frank Dallahan, 1018 West 9th Ave., King of Prussia, PA 19406, or The JCK Shows-Reed Exhibitions, Attn: Dave Bonaparte, 383 Main Ave., Norwalk, CT 06852.
