Jabel Sponsors Fight Against Poverty

Jewelry designer and producer Jabel will join the fight against global poverty by becoming the MicroBikeUSA‘s largest sponsor.

As lead sponsor, Jabel supports MicroBikeUSA’s efforts in cycling across the Unites States this summer, fundraising for microfinance leader ACCION Intl., and promoting awareness about the development solution.

“We are grateful that Jabel has become our latest sponsor, demonstrating its commitment to giving back as they transition under new leadership,” said MicroBikeUSA team member Fred Piumelli.

Today, it is estimated that half the world’s population live on less than $2 per day. Microfinance is on the verge of becoming one of the most popular and effective strategies in the battle against poverty. The concept is surprisingly simple: microloans as small as $50 give billions of people a chance to build futures filled with possibility for generations to come.

The MicroBikeUSA team is comprised of six recent college graduates who will inspire others to take action against global poverty as they bike from Darien, CT to San Fransisco this summer.  Along the way, the group will stop at local schools and public forums to raise funds for ACCION and to educate people about microlending.  To learn more about their journey or to support the group, visit www.microbikeusa.com or email MicroBikeUSA@gmail.com.
