Israeli Diamond Industry Reaffirms Ties to India

After the terror attacks on the
diamond center in Mumbai
, the Israeli diamond industry is reaffirming its
commitment to furthering ties with the Indian diamond market,
the Israel
Diamond Institute said in a press release July 18.

Israel still plans to maintain a presence at the upcoming
India International Jewelry Show in Mumbai Aug. 4–8.  An Israel Diamond Pavilion, organized by the
Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies, will include eight Israeli companies.

“Both [Israel and India] are ancient and civilizations and
young democracies, and both have had to deal with the horror of terror,” IDI
Chairman Moti Ganz said in a statement. “We are also two of the world’s leading
diamond centers. Israel and India can complement each other in both
manufacturing and trading and we are dedicated to intensifying our business
ties.”
