Israeli Dealer Nabbed for Smuggling

An Israeli diamond dealer was caught recently trying to
smuggle some $2.5 million in diamonds into Ben Gurion International Airport,
according to the Israeli
newspaper Ha’aretz.

The man was arrested for trying to go through the airport
“green lane” without declaring goods as required by law, the
newspaper said. The diamonds were found following a search.

Late last year, when a diamond smuggler was caught by
authorities, he turned out to be a long-time diamond
trader who ended up expelled by the country’s bourse.
