The inaugural ICA International Gem Show Dubai will take place at the five-star the Al-Bustan Rotana Dubai hotel.
The show, being held Oct. 13-15, is hosted by the International Colored Gemstone Association under the patronage of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre’s Coloured Stones and Pearls division. The event is expected to attract buyers from the Middle East and worldwide.
Exhibitors will be members of the ICA, DMCC, or the Dubai Gems Club and as such are bound to ethical trading standards, ICA said in a statement. Exhibitors will be entitled to duty free benefits on loose gemstones (5 percent customs applicable on finished jewelry items) and an eased process through Dubai customs. This is the only gem and jewelry show in Dubai fully supported by the Dubai government.
